Date of birth unknown; died 1743. Captain in the service of Russia; of British origin.

Valton was a participant in the second Kamchatka expedition of M. P. Shpanberg’s detachment. In 1738, while in command of the ship Nadezhda, he passed from Okhotsk to Bol’sheretsk on Kamchatka, from where he sailed twice (in 1738 and 1739) to Japan along the Kuril Ridge. He made a schematic drawing of 26 Kuril Islands on the map. In 1741 he described the northwestern shore of the Sea of Okhotsk, between the mouth of the Inia and Ul’ia rivers.
