Varaždin 

a city in Yugoslavia, in Croatia, near the Drava River. Population, 29,000 (1967). It is an important transportation junction. The largest textile enterprise in the country, Varteks (which employs 3,000 workers and produces woolen cloth, men’s clothing, and so forth), is located there. There is also food-processing, leather and shoemaking, and metal-working industry.
