Born Oct. 31 (Nov. 12), 1825, in the village of Malievtsy, in the Poltava Region; died Aug. 14 (27), 1912, in Kiev. Ukrainian mathematician. Professor at the University of Kiev (from 1867).

Vashchenko-Zakharchenko’s doctoral dissertation The Riemann Theory of the Functions of a Complex Variable (1866) was one of the first Russian works on this problem.
