a city (until 1957 a settlement), center of Vasil’evka Raion in Zaporozh’e Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, on the left bank of the Kakhovka Reservoir. It has a railroad station (Tavrichesk). Population, 11,900 (1968). Vasil’evka produces lime, household metal items, butter and cheese, and footwear. It also has a sovkhoz-technicum.
