Vedi 

an urban-type settlement, administrative center of Ararat Raion, Armenian SSR, on the Vedi River (tributary of the Araks), 7 km east of the Aigavan railroad station and 50 km southeast of Yerevan. Population, 6,600 (1969). Vedi has a dairy plant, a bakery, and a tanning plant, and also an amateur theater.
