Vedomosti Verkhovnogo Soveta Sssr
(Bulletin of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR), the official weekly publication of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, published in Moscow. From 1938, Vedomosti Verkhovnogo Soveta SSSR was published as a newspaper, and from 1954, as a bulletin in the languages of the Union republics. Vedomosti publishes laws of the USSR, resolutions of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, and normative ukases and resolutions of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR; treaties, agreements, and conventions concluded by the USSR with foreign states and ratified by the Supreme Soviet of the USSR; and ukases of the Pracidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR confirming titles and awarding orders and medals of the USSR. The bulletin also gives information on the work of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, its chambers, standing committees, and the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, as well as on the election and recall of deputies of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Vedomosti reports on the presentation of credentials by ambassadors of foreign states to the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Vedomosti Verkhovnogo Soveta SSSR provides news on the work of the Parliamentary Group of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and on changes in the administrative territorial division of the Union republics.
