Velleius Paterculus
Born circa 19 B.C.; died circa A.D. 31. Roman historian. During the reign of the emperor Tiberius (around A.D. 30) Velleius Paterculus wrote his Historiae Romanae (in two books), which set forth events from the Trojan War down to A.D. 30 and presented in great detail and in eulogistic tones the history of the times of Augustus (written in the form of biographical sketches of outstanding figures). This work of Valleius Paterculus contains information that is lacking in the other preserved sources. WORKSC. Vellei Paterculi ex Historiae romanae libris duobus quae supersunt.Edited by C.
