(chemical engineering)
A gas-cleaning device in which liquid injected at the throat of a venturi is used to scrub dust and mist from the gas flowing through the venturi.

On the two boilers equipped with venturi scrubbers, sulfuric acid testing was carried out both at the inlet and outlet of the scrubbers.
