Vestnik Vsemirnoi Istorii
(Journal of World History), an illustrated monthly journal, liberal in orientation. It was published in St. Petersburg from December 1899 to March 1902. The editor and publisher was S. S. Sukhotin. It published articles on domestic and world history (contributers included M. M. Kovalevskii, S. F. Platonov, N. P. Likhachev, M. A. Reisner, and F. F. Zelinskii), documents and memoirs, literary works, surveys of historical materials, and information about archaeological research. Its supplement had literary-historical fiction and popular science books on history. From 1903 to 1908 it came out under the name Vsemirnyi vestnik (World Journal).
