view camera [′vyü ‚kam·rə]
(optics)
A camera that can be focused at both front and back, with adjustments for tilts, swings, shifts, and rise and fall, to control the shape of the subject in the image; it has a groundglass on the back which enables the photographer to view the image to be recorded.

While the side-view cameras are certainly very useful for checking just how mired in a bog any of the four wheels might have become, I'm less sure that the Junction View cameras allow the driver to see anything that wouldn't better be looked out for with the naked eye rather than on the telly.
GOOGLE Street View cameras have saddled up to go off-road and snap images of Stonehenge.
The view camera was one of the first photographic camera designs and among pro photographers and hobbyists is still very alive and well even now.
