Viktor Mikhailov

Mikhailov, Viktor Pavlovich 

Born Nov. 11 (24), 1907, in Moscow. Soviet boxer. Honored Master of Sport (1936). Honored Coach of the USSR (1957). Member of the CPSU since 1940.

Between 1927 and 1939, Mikhailov was light heavyweight boxing champion of the USSR, absolute champion of the USSR (1939), and winner of the World Workers’ Olympics in Antwerp (1937). Mikhailov fought in in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45. From 1946 to 1957 he was coach of the USSR boxing team and from 1946 to 1972 an instructor at the State Central Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow. Mikhailov has been awarded two orders and a number of medals.

It is interesting that First Deputy Minister of Atomic Energy Viktor Mikhailov was quoted on a Kremlin International News Broadcast as saying Russia had helped Iran design a uranium mine.
``We must expand our exports,'' Viktor Mikhailov, Russia's atomic energy minister, told reporters last month.
Governor Viktor Mikhailov, chairman of the Magadan Regional Executive Committee, said, "We are pleased with the progress of the Kubaka gold project and with our relationship with Omolon Gold Mining Co.
