Viktor Talroze

    0.01 sec.
Tal’roze, Viktor L’vovich

Born Apr. 15, 1922, in the city of Tula. Soviet physical chemist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Member of the CPSU since 1945.

Tal’roze graduated from Moscow State University in 1947 and began working at the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR that same year. Since 1954 he has also worked at the Moscow Physicotechnical Institute, where he has been head of the subdepartment of chemical physics since 1961.

Tal’roze’s main works deal with the kinetics of chemical reactions occurring under irradiation and with the applications of physical methods to chemistry, specifically, mass spectrometric study of the reactions of many free radicals and ions. Tal’roze detected chemical reactions of organic ions with molecules in gases and designed a chemical laser using the reaction of hydrogen with fluorine.

Tal’roze has two discoveries to his credit, including the phenomenon of superlow external friction of solids that arises under irradiation. He has been awarded six orders and various medals.
