Villeneuve-Loubet, village, Alpes-Maritimes province, France. The village contains distilleries and manganese mines, and has become the site of numerous IBM offices. Located nearby at the ruins of a 16th-century castle. The village is known for spectacular architectural displays and for the Escoffier Museum.

The highlight of the campaign in southern France was the regiment's capture of the chateau at Villeneuve-Loubet, an action that opened the way for the Force to move up the French coast.
In the history of the First Special Service Force, or FSSF, the picturesque French village of Villeneuve-Loubet figures prominently, not only as the scene of a critical battle in August 1944, but also as the location of the FSSF's disbanding ceremony.
