Vinh

Vinh (vĭn), city (1989 pop. 175,167), E central Vietnam, near the Song Ca River and the Gulf of Tonkin coast. It is the commercial center for the surrounding agricultural area and is linked to Hanoi by highway and railroad.
Vinh 

a city in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, administrative center of the province of Nghe An. Population, about 44,000. Vinh is a transport point and industrial center. It has wood-processing and food enterprises and machine workshops. Near Vinh is the coastal seaport Ben-Thuy.
