Vinokurov, Evgenii Mikhailovich

Vinokurov, Evgenii Mikhailovich 

Born Oct. 22, 1925, in Briansk. Soviet Russian poet. Member of the CPSU since 1952.

Vinokurov graduated from the M. Gorky Institute of Literature in 1951. He began publishing in 1948 and is the author of the collections Poems on Duty (1951), The Blue (1956), Military Lyrics (1956), Confessions (1958), The Human Face (1960), The Word (1962), Lyrics (1962), Music (1964), Human Limits (1965), Characters (1965), Rhythm (1966), Poems (1967), Spectacles (1968), Collected Works (1968), A Gesture (1969), and others. His principal themes are the spiritual growth of man and meditations about his inner world. Vinokurov’s poems are characterized by a fidelity to exact details of everyday life and elements of humor, along with a penchant for a philosophical comprehension of life. He is the author of the collection of articles Poetry and Thought (1966). Vinokurov has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and various medals.
