Viseu

Viseu (vēzā`), town (1991 pop. 20,589), capital of Viseu dist. and Beira Alta, N central Portugal. The town has agricultural-processing and textile industries. It is famous for its wine. It was founded by the Romans, captured by the Moors (893), and retaken (1058) from the Moors by Ferdinand I of Castile. Noteworthy are a cathedral of mixed style, remains of ancient fortifications, and a museum.

We describe 2 bat-transmitted outbreaks in remote, rural areas of Portel and Viseu Municipalities, Para State, northern Brazil.
In addition to its headquarters in Porto, additional training facilities are located in Aveiro, Coimbra, Lisboa and Viseu.
