A set of regulations set down by the U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board (in Civil Air Regulations) to govern the operational control of aircraft during visual flight. Abbreviated VFR.

The Federal Aviation Administration wants to require private pilots to complete an online training course if they intend to fly under visual flight rules within about 115 miles of the District of Columbia.
