Davydov, Vitalii Semenovich
Born Apr. 3, 1939, in Moscow. Soviet ice hockey player. Honored Master of Sport (1963), teacher. Member of the CPSU from 1970 on. Davydov was a member of the teams that won the world championship several times between 1963 and 1971 and the European championship from 1963 to 1970. He was on the championship team of the Winter Olympic Games of 1964 and 1968 and on the team that was a prizewinner of the USSR national championship several times (1957–60, 1962–65, 1967–70). Through the 1960’s to the present (1972) he has been one of the leading defensemen of the Dynamo team of Moscow and of the combined team of the USSR. He was recognized as the best defenseman at the world championship of 1967. He has been awarded a Badge of Honor and medals. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
