Vltava River

 German Moldau

River, Czech Republic. The Czech Republic's longest river, it flows 270 mi (435 km). The river rises in southwestern Bohemia from two headstreams in the Bohemian Forest. It flows first southeast, then north across Bohemia and empties into the Elbe River.

Crossing the Charles Bridge for dinner, the lights of the grand buildings along the Vltava River were glinting in the black water.
Crowds of onlookers watched Fule and his predecessor Alexandr Vondra take the oars to transport the 42-kilo keg to the middle of the Vltava river, where a delegation from the Swedish embassy in Prague took it over.
Travelers can take in the Old Town Square, where the famous Astronomical Clock warns passers-by that they are an hour closer to meeting their maker, before crossing the Vltava River on the statue-lined Charles Bridge to visit Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral.
