Voprosy Geografii 

(Problems of Geography), collections of scientific thematic papers published by the Moscow branch of the Geographic Society of the USSR since 1946 on the initiative of N. N. Baranskii. Voprosy geografii deals with the problems of methodology in geography, questions in the theory of physical and economic geography, natural conditions and resources, physical and economic geographic regionalization, population geography, problems related to the regional distribution of the national economy in the USSR and foreign countries, cartography, the history of geography, and new methods of geographic research (particularly the latest mathematical methods). Information regarding the activities of the Moscow branch of the Geographic Society of the USSR is periodically published in the collections. A total of 83 collections appeared by the end of 1970. The circulation is 8,500 copies (1970).
