Walker, Walton

Walker, Walton (Harris) (1889–1950) soldier; born in Belton, Texas. A combat veteran of both World War I and World War II, he commanded United Nations ground forces in Korea in 1950. He directed the defensive battle of the Pusan Perimeter, then led the counteroffensive that drove North Korean forces northward to the Manchurian border. He was killed when his jeep collided with a truck near Seoul on December 23, 1950.
