Warp Beam

(or weaver’s beam), the bobbin on which the warp threads are wound for the production of fabric on a weaving loom. The shaft diameter of a warp beam is 100–180 mm, the diameter of the flanges is 400–765 mm, and the distance between the flanges corresponds to the width of the loom. The warp is wound onto the warp beam by sizing or winding machines. In the process of weaving, the warp is unwound from the warp beam under a specific tension.
