Warren, Leonard (b. Varenov) (1911–60) baritone; born in New York City. After studies in the U.S.A. and Milan, he made his Metropolitan debut in 1939 and became an acclaimed Verdi interpreter. He died while performing in Verdi's La forza del destino at the Met.
