Watterson, Bill

Watterson, (William) Bill (1958–  ) cartoonist; born in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. After graduating from Kenyon College (1980), where he had done political cartooning, he spent five years trying to find his niche. Starting in 1985 he produced the syndicated newpaper comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes, featuring a mischievous six-year-old boy and his toy tiger come-to-life.
