Wayne, James Moore (1790–1867) Supreme Court justice; born in Savannah, Ga. He served as mayor of Savannah, as a circuit court judge (1824–29), and in the U.S. House of Representatives (Ga.; 1829). President Jackson named him to the U.S. Supreme Court (1835–67) where he had a long but undistinguished career.
