Wear Resistance 

the resistance of materials to wear. The wear resistance of parts is evaluated in bench tests or under operating conditions according to the duration of the operation of the tested materials or products to a preset level of or maximum wear. The wear resistance of materials is defined as a standard specification of materials during testing with special laboratory machines that simulate the real processes of wear.
