Weaver, (Sylvester L.) Pat (1908– ) television executive; born in Los Angeles, Calif. (father of Sigourney Weaver). A radio writer and producer, he served as a Young and Rubicam advertising manager in the 1940s. Joining National Broadcasting Company in 1949, he became president (1953–55), later chairman, creating the Today and Tonight shows. In 1956 he returned to advertising, later founding Subscription Television in Los Angeles.
