Webb, Jack (Randolf) (1920–1982) television actor, director, producer; born in Santa Monica, Calif. He created Dragnet, a documentary style police radio show in 1949, starring in and directing the show when it moved to National Broadcasting Company-TV (1952–59). His company, Mark VII, Ltd., produced a series of police shows, including a revival of Dragnet (1967–70), and Adam-12 (1968–75). |
