It is used mostly for videophoning over networks such as Skype as well as to continuously monitor an activity and deliver the video to a Web server for public or private viewing. Webcams have been set up that stream video continuously to a Web site, capturing virtually anything, including a dorm room, a street corner, an interesting outdoor view and, of course, pornography, the latter inspiring programmers in the 1990s to greatly improve Webcam software. webcam a camera that transmits still or moving images over the internet

Texas Governor Rick Perry plans to mount live webcams on the border, so anyone online can watch for suspicious activity and report it directly to law enforcement agents. Supporting such spaces for math and science requires a broadband Wide Area Network that can handle data, voice and video traffic; Local Area Networks with wired and wireless connectivity at every site; portable math and science probes; Webcams and GIS technology. Webcams have come a long way over the years in terms of picture quality, but some of them still have problems during installation. |
