Weeden, Donald Edward (1930– ) stockbroker; born in Oakland, Calif. He graduated from Stanford (1951) and in 1956 joined Weeden & Co., the investment house his father founded. A leading "third market" firm, Weeden & Co., by the late 1960s handled some eight percent of the total business in stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), effectively challenging the NYSE's monopoly.
