Weifang

 

a city in China, in Shantung Province. Population, 190,000 (1957). The city is a transportation and trading center on the Ch’ingtao-Chinan railroad line. Weifang has food, textile, chemical (dyes), machine-building, and metallurgical industries. Artisans manufacture objects from ivory and other materials. Tobacco is cultivated in the vicinity of Weifang.
