Weiss magneton [′ves ′mag·nə‚tän]

(atomic physics)

A unit of magnetic moment, equal to 1.853 × 10^-24joule/tesla, about one-fifth of the Bohr magneton; it is experimentally derived, the magnetic moments of certain molecules being close to integral multiples of this quantity.
