Weyerhaeuser, George (Hunt) (1926– ) lumber executive; born in Seattle, Wash. A Yale graduate, he joined Tacoma-based Weyerhaeuser Company, the family business, in 1949, working as a mill foreman and branch manager before joining the executive ranks in 1957. Variously president, CEO, and chairman (1966), he rejuvenated the company through restructuring, expansion, diversification, and aggressive marketing. How to thank TFD for its existence?
