An XML standard from the Workflow Management Coalition (www.wfmc.org) that provides interoperability between different workflow applications. It is designed to allow third-party software components to be easily integrated into a workflow system. See workflow.

The WfMC created Wf-XML and XPDL, the leading process definition used today in over 80 known solutions to store and exchange process models.
WfMC created XPDL and Wf-XML and had influence on BPMN, OMG workflow interface, ASAP and many other process related standards.
Highlights include a keynote from WfMC Chairman Jon Pyke, presentations from WfMC members on Business Process Simulation, the Service-Oriented Enterprise, Leveraging BPM for Risk Management, as well as a full-day tutorial on the leverage of BPM standards including XPDL, BPMN, BPEL and Wf-XML.
