Wheelwright, John Brooks

Wheelwright, John Brooks (1897–1940) poet; born near Boston (descendant of John Wheelwright, 1592–1679). He attended Harvard and studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was known as a radical socialist in Boston, and wrote poetry accompanied by his own prose interpretations. He privately printed three volumes of his poems. The Collected Poems of John Wheelwright (1972) was published posthumously.
