Two unbeatens lost last weekend: Lawrence the Roman (now 3 for 4) in the Whirlaway at Aqueduct, and the champion 2-year-old filly Dreaming of Anna (4 for 5) in a minor stakes at Gulfstream Park. Whirlaway, Citation, Alydar, and Criminal Type are just a few of the thoroughbreds raised and trained at Calumet. The winning hybrids actually yielded more fruit and larger fruit than their older, well known hybrids such as Merced, Celebrity, Whirlaway, Bingo and Heatwave. |
