White, Peregrine, 1620–1704, first child born to English parents in New England. He was born on the Mayflower as she lay at anchor in Cape Cod Bay on Nov. 20. He became a citizen of Marshfield, Mass., and held minor offices.
White, Peregrine (1620–1703) colonist; born on the Mayflower in Cape Cod Bay. His parents were William and Susanna White. He was the first English child born in New England (another child, Oceanus Hopkins, had been born at sea). He became a captain of militia and settled in Marshfield, Mass.
