White Eye 

(in Russian, beloglazka; Abramis sapa), a fish of the carp family; similar to the bream. The white eye grows to a length of 15–18 cm and occasionally to 33 cm; it weighs up to 0.8 kg. It is found in the rivers flowing to the Black, the Caspian, and the Aral seas, as well as in the Volkhov River.

It is also found in weakly saline waters. The white eye feeds on insect larvae, mollusks, and algae. It spawns in May and June. It has no great commercial value.
