color temperature |
Also found in: Wikipedia | 0.04 sec. |
color temperatureThe measurement of color expressed in Kelvin (K). The reason this measurement is called a "temperature" is because it was derived from a theoretical object called a "black body radiator." When the radiator is heated, it changes from black to red to yellow to white to blue. The lower the Kelvin rating, the "warmer" or more yellow the light. The higher the rating, the "cooler" or more blue the light. See white balance.

color temperature [¦kəl·ər ¦tem·prə·chər] (statistical mechanics) Of a solid surface, that temperature of a blackbody from which the radiant energy has essentially the same spectral distribution as that from the surface. | Data collected from the Sigma SD14 image sensor streams into the image pipeline, where a Blackfin ADSP-BF561 processor executes as many as 200 computations per pixel, running complex image-processing algorithms such as shading and color compensation, white balancing, tonal and color correction, sharpening, and compression. Instead of a separate snap-on camera head with focusing and white balancing issues, and a bulky light source to connect and adjust, the DUR-D ureteroscope employs a distal CMOS video sensor and built-in LEDs for illumination. black level calibration, lens de-shading, crosstalk compensation, color mosaic interpolation, color correction, auto white balancing with illuminant estimation, auto exposure and gain control, sharpening, noise reduction, special effects and gamma correction. |
