The WiMedia Alliance is a not-for-profit open industry association that promotes and enables the rapid adoption, regulation, standardization, and multi-vendor interoperability of ultra-wideband (UWB) worldwide. While existing wireless standards are primarily concerned with moving standard data types among wireless devices, the WiMedia Alliance sees a niche for multimedia-based, wireless personal area networks, or WPANs. The company is an active contributing member of the USB Implementers Forum, the WiMedia Alliance and the Bluetooth SIG. |
