Of 31 beaches tested along that strip, only Surfrider Beach, 16801 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica Canyon at Will Rogers State Beach, Santa Monica Municipal Pier and Venice City Beach at Windward Avenue received F grades, indicating very high levels of bacteria that can cause respiratory, stomach or skin ailments.
Surfers and swimmers may want to avoid the water this weekend at Santa Monica Municipal Pier, Malibu Pier, Will Rogers State Beach at Santa Monica Canyon, and Surfrider Beach at the breach between the ocean and lagoon.
Beaches that remain closed include: Marina del Rey Beach, Will Rogers State Beach from Temescal Canyon Road to Sunset Boulevard; Las Flores Beach, Big Rock Beach; Las Tunas County Beach; Point Dume County Beach; Westward Beach; and Zuma Beach.
