Wilson, James Harrison (1837–1925) soldier; born near Shawneetown, Ill. A hard-hitting Union cavalry commander, he defeated Nathan Forrest at Franklin, Tenn. (1864); a detachment of his command captured Jefferson Davis in Georgia in May 1865. Wilson volunteered on the outbreak of the Spanish-American War and saw service in China during the Boxer Rebellion (1900). How to thank TFD for its existence?
