Wilson, (Lewis Robert) “Hack” (1900–48) baseball player; born in Elwood City, Pa. During his 12-year career as an outfielder (1923–34), mostly with the Chicago Cubs, he hit 56 home runs and batted in the major league record 190 runs in 1930. Small for a slugger (5'6"), he led his league in home runs four times. He was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1979.
