Win Add protocol

To add a network protocol to your computer, do the following to retrieve a list of available protocols. When adding an XP machine to a Windows 98 network without servers, it may be necessary to install the NetBEUI protocol. NetBEUI is not part of the XP protocol list, but is available on the XP installation CD (see NetBEUI).

Windows Vista
(Control panel must be in Classic View)
1. Start menu/Control Panel/Network & Sharing Center.
2. Click Manage Network Connections.
3. Right click Local Area Connection.
4. Select Properties.
5. Click Install/Protocol/Add.

Windows XP
(Control panel must be in Classic View)
1. Start menu/Control Panel/Network Connections.
2. Right click Local Area Connection.
3. Select Properties.
4. Click Install/Protocol/Add.

Windows 95/98
1. Start menu/Settings/Control Panel/Network.
2. Click Add/Protocol/Add.

Windows 2000
1. Start menu/Settings/Control Panel/Network & Dial-up Connection.
2. Right click Local Area Connection.
3. Select Properties.
4. Click Install/Protocol/Add.

Windows NT 4
1. Start menu/Settings/Control Panel/Network.
2. Click Protocols/Add.
