Win Dial-up Networking

Dial-up Networking is used to establish a connection to a remote dial-up service. To set up a new connection, Windows takes you through a series of prompts. NT4 is the exception, in which case you have to fill in the blanks.

Windows XP
1. Select Start menu/Control Panel.
2. Click Network Connections.
3. Click Create a New Connection and follow prompts.

Windows 95/98
1. Click My Computer.
2. Click Dial-up Networking.
3. Click Make New Connection and follow prompts.

If Dial-up Networking is not present, you have
to install it from your Windows 95/98 CD-ROM.
Have your CD-ROM available and do this:

1. Select Start menu/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Select Add/Remove Programs.
3. Click Windows SETUP tab.
4. Double click Communications.
5. Enable Dial-up Networking.
6. Click OK and follow prompts.

Windows NT 4
1. Click My Computer.
2. Click Dial-up Networking.
3. Click New.

Windows 2000
1. Select Start menu/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Click Network & Dial-up Connection.
3. Click Make New Connection and follow prompts.
