Win Taskbar

    0.01 sec.

The Windows Taskbar is a row of buttons across the bottom of the screen. It contains the Start menu button and a button for each open application. Every time an application is launched, it is represented by a button on the Taskbar that has the application's logo and name. If the application is "minimized" by clicking the _ button at the top right side of its window, it is taken off screen, but the icon still remains on the Taskbar. To restore the application to the screen, click the icon.

The Taskbar can be moved to a different side of the screen, and it can be made to remain hidden until needed, freeing up a little more screen for document viewing. See Win Move Taskbar and Win Hide Taskbar.

Taskbar and Start Menu
The Taskbar contains the Start menu. Whenever an application is launched, it is represented by a button on the Taskbar as with this Microsoft Word example.
