## wind velocity

The speed and direction of the wind is called wind velocity. It is expressed in five or six digits—the first three indicating the true direction from which the wind is blowing and the last two or three digits indicating the speed in knots. Thus, if the wind is blowing at 25 knots from the west, it will be expressed as 270/25. If the wind speed is, however, 120 knots, it will be expressed as 270/120.

Time series of water temperature, barometric pressure, and wind velocity were used to determine their relative influence on sea level variability using the method of Principal Component Analysis (Salas-Monreal & Valle-Levinson, 2008).
For these simulations, the intention is to maintain the same sheared wind velocity profile that is defined at the inlets at the vehicle.
This method rests on the assumption that the terrestrial wind velocity at the vehicle location is equal to the wind velocity measured at the track midpoint during the same time interval, suggesting that the wind is spatially uniform and characterized by temporal variations only.
As wind velocity increased, disease incidence was decreased.

In conclusion, many researchers prefer the equations derived using air-relative velocities for two reasons: the aerodynamic forces are defined relative to the air flow and it is convenient to explain the effect of wind velocity intuitively.
After correcting for the expected spin of the planet we measure a wind velocity of 5400 mph [8690 km/h] on the blue side, indicating a strong eastward wind flow from the heated day side to the night side of the planet," explain the scientists.
We will customise them according to the wind velocity and frequency of trains at different stations.
Parametric studies of the effects of key design parameters--including wind velocity, blade pitch angle, and rotor rotational speed--are investigated and validated against experimental data These same parametric studies are then repeated using a tower-less wind turbine rotor, possible only in computer simulations.
Then, turning, it dives back down, again using the change in wind velocity to increase airspeed.
