Windows based
(1) (Windows-based; upper case "W") Refers to hardware and software that use Microsoft Windows.

(2) (windows-based; lower case "w") Displaying applications in resizable windows on screen. Same as "graphics based" and "GUI based." Graphical user interfaces (GUIs) on desktop and laptop computers are all windows based. Although images may be zoomed in and out, GUIs on smartphones, PDAs and other handhelds generally present their applications full screen with little or no window resizing capability. Contrast with text based.
