wireless network

A communications system that transmits and receives radio signals over the air. The term generally refers to Wi-Fi local area networks (LANs) or to the 3G/4G data services from the cellular carriers' wide area networks (WANs). See Wi-Fi, wireless LAN and cellular generations.
