WolframAlpha

    0.01 sec.
WolframAlpha
A computational search engine that provides statistics for all major disciplines. Developed by Stephen Wolfram, inventor of the Mathematica software, WolframAlpha differs from major search engines in that it returns a fixed set of answers for queries rather than countless articles that contain the keywords. Launched in 2009, WolframAlpha.com is designed to return statistics and mathematical data about a subject rather than narrations, opinions and explanations. For example, searching for "IBM" returns the current stock price and other financial data about the company.

The Results for 800 MHz
Entering "800 MHz" returned the above set of values. In contrast, a Google, Yahoo! or MSN search would return millions of articles that contain the same keywords.

WolframAlpha was released in May 2009 and is one more step along the way toward the computational management of large and complex data structures.
Google searches for information and provides relevant links; WolframAlpha feeds the user actual information, not links, and that information may be pulled from a knowledge base or generated by calculations it performs.
Last week, Microsoft announced it would incorporate answers from another new Web search engine, WolframAlpha, to queries in the fields of nutrition, health, and advanced mathematics.
